* Techno Speak: “Synchronization” is a term used
to describe a process of making data on several PCs the same. This
technology is used by some “desktop databases” such as Microsoft
Access. It is recommended for a small number of users. The more
users, the more "Conflict Resolution" procedures must be handled
individually by the operator. Larger data systems such as Oracle, MS
Sql Server, Sybase, and others utilize a process called "Push-Pull
Replication". ArborSoftWorx employs a customized form of this
technology to exchange data with office and field devices. The terms
“Import” and “Export” are used since they are more easily
understandable to our users in this industry. |
